Babel

Adult animated Sci-fi series

After a VR game that offered them purpose and a sense of community end in 2035, three world-weary individuals reunite through an overwhelmingly powerful mind-sharing software given to them by the game makers, only to find themselves on the run from the authorities.

“Babel” is a speculative animated sci-fi series about what it means to be truly connected in a world where we’ve become more and more detached from each other. Wasn’t the promise of technology to bring us closer together? Radio, television, and the Internet let us experience the same stories as someone at the other end of the world. Telegraph wires, phone lines, and wireless mobile technology allowed us to connect ever more quickly. And eventually, we may have chip implementations like Elon Musk’s Neuralink – which aims to one day not only connect human minds with computers but also human minds with each other.

Now – imagine a technology that enables us to share knowledge, thoughts, feelings and experiences. A device that allows us to really put ourselves in someone else’s shoes by introducing a universal language that is truly felt. A tool so powerful, it made God come down to Earth and prevent his people from building the Tower of Babel (as stated in the biblical Genesis). Will technology like this bring us closer together or drive us further apart? Will it turn our lives into Heaven on Earth – or into a living Hell?

In 10 episodes of 10-15 minutes each, we explore the beauties and the dangers of such a holistic connection, culminating in an interactive season finale that gives our viewers the power to “plugin” and determine the fate of humanity – for our characters, and all of humankind.
